What is 1DocWay
1DocWay is a telemental health network operator that connects people to mental health services through a safe, user-friendly videoconferencing platform.
How does it work?
To use 1DocWay and begin receiving telemental health services, you must create a personal account. After signing up and creating your personal 1DocWay portal, you will have complete access to all of our platform's features and be able to schedule your appointments.
How am I assured my experience is confidential?
1DocWay's videoconferencing platform is HIPAA-compliant, using a 256-bit encryption (bank-level security). All data transmitted between you and your provider is encrypted at all times. Our providers and personnel are all trained to comply with HIPAA and having your privacy and confidentiality maintained is a priority for 1DocWay
Who can use 1DocWay?
1DocWay is a simple behavioral health care resource that children and adults of all ages can use. Research supports the efficacy of telemental health services in treating a people from a wide range of age groups and with a variety of mental health concerns. Currently, our services are only offered to UC and OPTUM employees and their dependents.
How much does it cost?
The cost of an appointment with one of our 1DocWay clinicians varies. Factors including the credentialing of your provider, the length of time of your session and the specifics of your insurance plan influence cost. To find out how much our services will cost you, please contact your health plan provider.
What will I need?
All you need to use 1DocWay a laptop or desktop computer with a functioning webcam, the most up to date version of Google Chrome or Firefox and 15 minutes to create your 1DocWay account. It is also important to note that it is a common practice in telemental health to request a credit card for your co-pay or coinsurance after deductible and this will be required during the registration process.
How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment with one of our clinicians, you must have a 1DocWay account. First, either SIGN UP to create your account or, if you already have an account, LOG IN to your personal 1DocWay portal. After signing up or logging in, you will see a button that says, "Create Your First Appointment" and/or a "New Appointment" tab on the left hand sidebar of your portal. Click either one of these options, then select the 1DocWay provider you would like to see, followed by the date and time of your session and click save. That's all it takes to book your appointment!
How are virtual visits different from in-person sessions?
Clinically speaking, virtual visits are not different from in-person visits. With 1DocWay, you are seen by a licensed, board-certified practitioner who has been trained to provide care via telemedicine. The same standards of care for in-person visits are followed for virtual visits, and studies show that the two are clinically equivalent with respect to efficacy.
Can I use 1DocWay if I am experiencing an emergency or crisis situation?
No. 1DocWay is not designed to deliver emergency medical or psychiatric care. If you or a loved one are experiencing an emergency or crisis situation, please call 911 immediately, seek emergency assistance at the medical facility nearest you, or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 (800) 273-8255.
